This shoot was inspired by the countless lives lost not only throughout history, but as of today due to racism, police brutality, etc…. The girl seen holding the flowers resembles a loving sister, mourning the loss of her brother who passed away due to police brutality. People from all over gather behind her, mourning with her and paying respect due to another life lost from another tragedy. Juneteenth is not only a day in which to respect and rejoice the end of slavery, but to also commemorate all the lives lost due to a conflict we still face today.
